Mattress Tips

Do you need a new mattress?

  • You may need a new mattress if…

    • You are having trouble getting a good night’s sleep
    • You are experiencing back or muscle pain
    • You feel fatigued in the morning
    • You feel drained or lack energy throughout the day
    • You and your partner have limited space to move around on the mattress
  • You definitely need a new mattress if…

    • Your current mattress is lumpy or uneven
    • You notice your mattress, or its edges, sagging
    • Your foundation appears uneven or sagging
    • Your mattress cover is torn, stained, or soiled

What to look for when buying a new mattress:

  • Quality over quantity

    • "You get what you pay for." A cheaper mattress may not be the best option for you. Look at mattresses by their quality first and then compare the prices to your budget. Bargain mattresses often lack value and may leave you restless.
  • Comfort

    • Do you like a firmer feel or do you prefer luxurious cushioning when sleeping? Look for a mattress that fits with your preferences.
    • Consider purchasing matching sleep sets. Combining a new mattress with an old foundation can compromise comfort and reduce the lifetime of the mattress.
  • Support

    • A quality mattress should allow you to relax while supporting your spine in its natural curve. Your spine should be in the same position as good standing posture when lying on the mattress.
  • Space

    • Select a mattress that provides enough room for free, easy movement. Couples should select a Queen or King size mattress to ensure the best night’s sleep.
  • Durability

    • Due to wear and tear on mattresses, it is recommended that you re-evaluate your sleep set at least twice a year. Eventually, you won’t receive the same support and comfort as you did when the set was new.
